Air intake system is one component that serves to keep dust or filter dust from the air, and supplying clean air to the engine for use in the combustion process.

Typically, a dirty air intake element would make the engine difficult to lit (starter), because the engine power is reduced and may lead to wasteful fuel and shorten engine life.

Air intake element cleaning procedures vary, depending on the type of elements used. But generally, that is used is the element type of filter paper.

Steps to clean the air intake systems, among others:

1. Removing the air intake.

2. checking the air intake element and clean it from dirt or dust.
3. Removing the air intake element from the handle, which is urethane foam?

4. Wash the dust or dirt that is the way to gently squeeze in solvents or flammable liquids.

5. Never clean the element with a gasoline or other liquid containing the chemical element, because it can make it easy to fire, decays, or even reduced absorbed power.

6. For those elements made of paper material, when the surface is dirty, then it is better if the dust off first by tapping gently element, then blown dust from the inside outwards.

7. Element type of paper generally cannot be cleaned as well as in the foam element. Therefore it is better if replaced periodically.
